Why predict?

Space heating in the majority of homes is controlled by on/off switching using room thermostats. This type of control stops supplying heat when the set temperature is reached. By that time, the building has received too much heat and energy has been used unnecessarily. Predictive control learns about building response to heat input and triggers control actions in advance. There is overwhelming scientific evidence that this type of control saves energy. Our own research confirms 20% energy savings.
